PEORIA - Mrs. Lorna Diane Ingrassia, of Lake Street in Port Washington, Wis., formerly of Peoria, passed away peacefully at her residence Sunday, June 16, 2013. She was 74 years old.
She was born on Aug. 4, 1938, in Farmington, Ill., daughter of Charles and Hazel Simpson Dehm.
Diane attended local schools, graduating from Farmington High School with the Class of 1955.
On July 4, 1961, she was united in marriage with Russell Ingrassia in Peoria, Ill. The couple settled in the Peoria area and raised their family.
Diane attended college and earned her bachelor's degree in nursing in 1987.
Mr. Ingrassia preceded her in death in 1999. Diane moved to Wisconsin, originally to Trenton and later to Port Washington.
Mrs. Ingrassia was a seasoned world traveler, a voracious reader and enjoyed art in many forms, including cake decorating and painting.
She is survived by her four children: Renee (Michael) Ariens of San Antonio, Texas, Tom (Kathy) Ingrassia and Joe (Debbie) Ingrassia, both of Cedarburg, Wis., and Karl (Kathy) Ingrassia of Port Charlotte, Fla. She is further survived by eight grandchildren; sister, Tanya (Joe) Callahan of Springfield, Va.; brother, Tom Dehm of Sun City, Ariz.; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.
A memorial service will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, June 21, at the Eernisse Funeral Home, 1167 Washington Ave., Cedarburg, Wis. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in Peoria at a later date. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Friday from 6 to 6:30 p.m.
