Lauren Kowatch Obituary
Relatives and friends are invited to call Schimunek Funeral Home Inc 610 W. MacPhail Rd. (at Rt. 24) on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at St. Ignatius Catholic Church (Hickory) at 10 AM, a reception will follow the mass in the parish center. Interment private. Memorial contributions may be made to the John Hopkins Children Center, Development Office, 100 N. Charles St, Suite 200, Baltimore, MD 21201.

I am so sorry to hear of your devastating loss. I first saw Lauren's bright smile when we were in the 3rd grade and it was a smile that stayed with her all throughout middle and high school. Even in recent years, whenever I ran into her at church or in town, she always greeted me with the same bright smile. My deepest sympathies to you and your family as your families.

Lauren has a special place in my heart for so many cherished childhood memories. Endless summers were spent at the pool and riding our bikes. Our friendship continued through JC. I will always remember Lauren's kind heart and big warm smile. My deepest sympathies to the Comen and Kowatch families.

To the Kowatch and Comen Family, I have know Lauren since my early teens and was always greeted with a warm smile and a hug. I recently saw her across the room at a school meeting and she got up right away and sat with me. I will pray for your famlies in this very difficult time. Dear Mike, Spencer, Brendan, and Comen family,
Ever since Kindergarten when Spencer and Stephen first met and became the best of friends, our families formed an instant bond. We have shared many wonderful memories: sports, movies, birthdays, dinners, cookouts, Hershey Park and Great Wolf Lodge trips, sleepovers, and endless play-dates. Although no words can ease your loss, please know we will continue to be here for you with our love and support. Lauren was beautiful, both inside and out, and we feel blessed to have known her. I had the pleasure of knowing Lauren for 2 different decades. We went to John Carroll together and were close friends. We reconnected recently as our sons ended up at St. Francis Pre School together. She was so sweet and pleasant. She will be sorely missed.
