Lena Elizabeth Morgan

Lena Elizabeth (Cooper) Morgan, age 83, of Aberdeen, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 8th, at the home of her son in Havre de Grace.

Born in Havre de Grace, Maryland, Lena was born Lena Elizabeth Cooper, the daughter of the late Terrell and Artie "Betty" (Ingram) Cooper. She was the beloved wife of the late Marlin "Mark" Morgan, who preceded her in death in June 2024.

Lena retired from federal government service and later from a second career in home health care. During her children's youth, she found joy in being actively involved with Havre de Grace Little League and the Parks and Recreation football and cheerleading programs. She played a vital role in their early education through the PTA, serving as a homeroom mom and always stepping up to support food drives and fundraising efforts.

Her relationship with God was important to her, she was a lifelong member of Hopewell United Methodist Church.

Lena is survived by her children: Chad Tate and his wife, Rachel, of Havre de Grace, and Elizabeth "Bette" Troxell and her husband, Gene, of Emmitsburg; her siblings: Robert "Bob" Cooper of Fallston, Jane Preston of Aberdeen, and Bessie George of Port Deposit; her grandchildren: Emily Tate Daniel, Jennifer Tate Beutler, Julianna Tate Zoch, Elizabeth Tate, Mihret Tate, and Bryan Troxell; and a great-grandchild expected in December.

In addition to her parents and husband, Lena was preceded in death by her sisters, Linda Cooper and Jackie Ulrich.

A Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 16th, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Tarring-Cargo Funeral Home, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 12:00 p.m.
