Mark Guenthner Obituary

April 30, 1957-April 20, 2024

Mark Guenthner age 67 of Belcamp, Maryland passed away on April 20,2024 at University of Maryland Hospital.

Born in Ridgewood , NJ he was the son of the late A. Fred Guenthner and Irene Maladowitz Guenthner. Mark grew up in Waldwick, N.J. and graduated from Waldwick High School in 1975. During his high school years Mark loved the outdoors. He especially enjoyed hiking, fishing, boating and camping. Mark and his family went on many summer vacations at the St Lawrence Seaway and enjoyed fishing and boating with his family in his younger days and later with his wife and children and grandchildren.

As a teenager Mark enjoyed playing soccer and was a referee for high school teams and was a linesman at the Meadowlands in NJ when " Pele" was playing for the Cosmos.

Mark loved history, especially The Civil War and both World Wars. He enjoyed taking family and friends on tours of Gettysburg Battlefield where he trained as a guide.

Mark Guenthner is survived by his wife Elise Guenthner of Belcamp Md; daughter Keirsten Anderson and son in law Casey; son Paul Guenthner and wife Kellie and son Kevin Guenthner; and 5 grandchildren; brothers Fred and Ray Guenthner and sister Meg Guenthner. In addition to his parents Mark was predeceased by his brother Glenn Guenthner, Marks final request was to have his body donated to The Maryland Anatomy Board.
