Martin C. Bloom

Martin C. Bloom, of Baltimore, Maryland, passed away on Saturday, January 11th, 2025, at the age of 96. He is survived by his children, Aaron G. Bloom (Maria Howell), Miriam Bloom, Michael (Elizabeth) Bloom, and Isaac (Susan) Rosenberg; grandchildren, Andrew Bloom, Richard O'Meara, Samuel Bloom, Emma Bloom, Yani Rosenberg, and Orly Rosenberg (Toni Ruocco Rosenberg); great-grandchildren, Scott Bloom, Thea Bloom, Charlie Rosenberg, Sienna Rosenberg, and Riley Ruocco Rosenberg. He was predeceased by his wife, Edith Bloom (nee Lazen); his brother, Sigmond (Ada) Bloom; and his loving companion, Lois Shapiro.

Martin enjoyed spending time with friends and loved ones, as well as cherishing his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Baltimore Hebrew Congregation was also central to his life, particularly his long term involvement with their Brotherhood, which led to his leadership of the Chicken Flickers for more than 30 years and was indicative of both his life-long passion for the organization as well as his role as the quintessential helper behind the scenes. An avid tennis player as a high school athlete, he was active for most of his life and enjoyed the outdoors. His other interests included reading, dining out, and watching the Baltimore Colts play.

Services at Sol Levinson's Chapel, 8900 Reisterstown Road, Pikesville, MD 21208, on Monday, January 13th, 2025, at 10:30 am. Interment Baltimore Hebrew Berrymans Lane Cemetery. Please omit flowers. The family will be in mourning at Baltimore Hebrew Congregation, 7401 Park Heights Avenue, Pikesville, Maryland 21208.
