Lynne, we were very sorry to learn of Martin's passing, seeing the notice in yesterday's Baltimore Sun online. He was unique and a pleasure to work with in the OR, but he was not just a colleague, but also a friend. I can recall our numerous conversations ranging from rugby and his disdain of soccer, to the merits of geothermal HVAC systems and Marmite being the secret ingredient in Worthington's White Shield ale.
Since we moved to the North Shore of Massachusetts 16 years ago Noreen regularly checks the Sun online. It was eerie to see the notice yesterday as we had been talking about the two of you just the day before. There was a 250th anniversary reenactment of the Battle of Bunker Hill Saturday in Gloucester not far from where we live (not enough room to hold it at the actual site), and I remarked how you sometimes participated in such events. We recalled your having moved to a place in the country and wondered if Martin had been doing pottery.
Again, our heart felt condolences, and you and your family are in our thoughts.
