Mary Cohen

Mary Cohen (nee Dickinson), of Towson, Maryland, passed away on Saturday, October 4th, 2025, at the age of 85. She is survived by her loving step-children, Michael A. Cohen, I. Eric Cohen (Lisa P. Cohen), Dr. A. Ross Cohen (Clara Thorsen Cohen), and Lisa M. Gill (Wm. Barry Gill); her adoring grandchildren, Emily Cohen, Allyson Cohen, Marni Cohen, Joshua Cohen, Benjamin (Julie) Cohen, Justin (Jodi) Cohen, Ariel Cohen, Isabella (Zachary) Cohen, Kirstin E. Bolt, Rebecca E. Gill, Lynn Cohen; and her cherished great grandchildren, Grayson Bolt, Kaysen Cohen, Kamden Cohen, Christopher Thomas, and Kole Voland. She was predeceased by beloved husband, David H. Cohen; her devoted step-son, Paul H. Cohen; and her dear daughter-in-law, Kelly C. Cohen.

Mary's life was as vibrant and full as the music she so dearly loved. A proud graduate of the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University, she was a gifted singer and pianist who shared her passion for music through her work as a devoted voice teacher. It was through family that she met the love of her life, David H. Cohen. The couple was introduced by David's sister-in-law, Renee, and from their very first meeting, David was smitten. The couple married on Halloween, a fitting date for two people who loved to celebrate life and knew how to throw a wonderful party.

Mary embraced every moment with energy and joy. She filled her days with music, laughter, and friendship. Whether attending the theatre and opera, playing games with friends, or performing for others. Her zest for life and generous spirit left a lasting impression on all who knew her. She lived fully, loved deeply, and shared her gifts freely, creating a legacy of warmth, creativity, and song that will long be remembered.

Services at Baltimore Hebrew Berrymans Lane Cemetery, 318 Berrymans Lane Reisterstown, MD 21136, on Friday, October 10th, 2025, at 11:00 am. Please omit flowers. Contributions in her memory may be sent to Baltimore Museum of Art, 10 Art Museum Drive, Baltimore, MD 21218. The family will be hosting a reception at Gourmet Girls, 3713 Old Court Rd, Pikesville, MD 21208, following the interment.
