To the family of Michelle, you all have my families deepest sympathy, Michelle was a great part of my mothers life during her tour of employment at SHA. My mom (Dianne Toney) and Michelle shared so many special moments together, they shared so many inner most moments also. I remeber the days when Michelle would call the house just to say Dianne I miss you and I love you for all the time we spent together. My mom would call Michelle her "Super Model" and April her "Cry Baby", they were so special for one another they all accented one another. She would always tell me that she had to spend adequate time with April and Michelle, because if not she would not have a peaceful day.I am for sure that my mom (Dianne) and Michelle are looking down on us each while walking around Heaven all day long. Michelle is decorating and color coordinating the Golden City and my mom is hanging curtains all over the place. God BLess, John and the boys your sweetheart and dear mom will be forever in your hearts.

For anyone that knew Michell you knew that she was just as beautiful on the inside as she was on the outside. If she was your friend, there was nothing she wouldn't do for you, even if you weren't the friend you should have been to her. I saw her like that with so many people over the years. She always gave the best of herself. I loved her very much and think about her every day. I have an emptiness in my heart that will never go away. I will always hold onto the wonderful memories that we shared. She was so passionate in everything she did, her wit was like no other, and she didn't take any crap from anyone. I respected her so much. She never judged me for all the stupid things I had done during our 20+ years of friendship. We had so many laughs together and we also shared some tears. I find myself a little lost without her because we talked just about every day even if it was about nothing. I guess we all have to cherish the memories and know that one day we will all see her again. I feel better just knowing that when I die I have such a good friend waiting for me. She was the most devoted wife and mother I have ever known and truly loved John and her boys. I know it's hard for you Matt, Tyler, and Kyle but remember that Mom will always be with you and when you hear that little voice telling you right from wrong that is her watching over you. She is now an angel in heaven probably instructing the best of them and organizing and decorating the place. I doubt she is cooking, though. It will never be the same! Love, Dawn

Michell, I miss you and I will never forget our friendship.
John, Matt, Tyler and Kyle - We think about you every day. I wish that we would not have moved away. I look at this guest book every day and read all the wonderful things being said about Michell. I have my own special memories too. I think about all the late night runs to Wal-mart to get diapers and formula. I miss the strolls through White Marsh Mall. I can still hear your Mom laugh as Brian chased her around the pool.
Each of you looks like your Mom, so the only thing you need to do is look in the mirror and see her in you. She will always be apart of you, forever. John you said so many wonderful things about Michell and the people in her life. Your love for each other will last into eternity.
I just want you to know that we are here when ever you need us. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Take Care.

I spoke with John Arnold yesterday. He asked me to post a copy of the Eulogy that I presented at Michell's Service. He told me that more than a few people have asked for copies. I am happy that it was recieved so warmly. While I may have written it and presented it, essentially it was created by Michell herself during the seven years that I was able to know her. Please continue to keep Michell, John, Matt, Tyler, and Kyle in your thoughts and prayers.

Michell’s Eulogy
Where is my Mom? A seven year old asked me that question again yesterday. Each time I have answered him as best as I was able. I am sure he will ask me again. After all he is only seven. Every time he asks me that question I always think about Michelle before I answer. I only knew Michelle for seven years. Maybe the seven year thing cues my mind to think of her when her seven year old asks me that question. When I think of Michell I picture her in my mind. For some reason I am always able to picture the extraordinary people I have know that God has called home.
When I picture her I see a stunningly beautiful woman. She was a proud woman with a dignified prescience about her. She had her act together but it was not an act. Her hair was always perfect. Not matter what she wore she always looked better than anyone else. It was almost unnatural that she looked so good all of the time. I used to stop by sometimes early on a weekend morning to drop something off to John or the boys to see if I could catch her off guard. It didn’t matter. She looked as good in pajamas as she did in an evening gown. Those pajamas by the way, were ironed.
Her house was always clean. It was so clean that I would take of my shoes when I walked in the door. I still do. She had such a sense of style that each room looked like the cover of a good housekeeping magazine. An amazing feat when you realize that three boys lived there. The boys were always clean too.
Michell was not all about appearances though. She was funny. She could make people laugh. She could pick you up when you were down, and if she had too, bring you down if you got a little to far up with a sarcastic and lighting quick barb that would do the job but still leave a smile on your face. I liked to kid around with her sometimes. Her replies to my chidings left me speechless five times. Those may be the only five times I have been speechless in my life. If she knew you she would do anything to help you. I heard of so many things she did for people at work, friends, family and even total strangers that I don’t have time to list them now. I don’t have too. Look around you. The people she helped are sitting next to you, in front of you, across the aisle. The people that are here today are here because they care. And they care because Michelle cared yesterday.
I bet not many of you know that Michell ironed everything. She even ironed her boy’s underwear. Honest. She did. When I saw this for the first time it made me wonder if my mother loved me as much as Michell loved her boys. My mom never ironed my underwear. The love Michell has shown her children is immeasurable and pure. It is the kind of love that has no name but every good mother knows it well. It is a love that has a bond so strong that even death cannot break its grip. This love is second only to God’s love and almost as lasting. This love will carry her children through this difficult time. This love is what has etched her in their minds and hearts. And this love will grow within them as they grow. In a sense she has left a part of her with us, in these boys. They are hurt there is no doubt. But her love will soothe their pain. And her love will always be there. In a trying time such as this I have found that it helps to focus on good things. Think of the how much stronger the bond between these brothers will be after enduring this loss. Michelle would like that. She would be proud to know that this has brought her sons closer together and made their bond stronger. We can learn from this as well. We can see clearly how precious everyday is, and how uncertain tomorrow maybe. And realizing that, tonight mothers and fathers will tell their sons and daughters that they love them and hug them a little bit longer and tighter than they did yesterday. Michell would like that.
Michelle could not cook. John married her anyway. They were in love and he figured if she can’t cook then he would learn how to. And he did. John is a great cook. My own kids would rather eat at Uncle Johnnies than at our own house. And my wife can cook. That is the kind of relationship they shared and that is why it worked so well. If he can’t do it I will. If she can’t do it I will. When John was down Michell picked him up. Just like she did for many of us here. And he did the same for her. When Michell stumbled a few months ago, John was there to pick her up.
He never left her side. I saw it then. I saw the love they shared. They say the worst of times brings out the best in the best of people and I saw it with my own eyes. It was awe inspiring. Over the months I prayed for Michell like we all did. I have to be honest though. I also prayed that should I face such a struggle with my wife we would have that same love. I am sure some of you did as well. Michelle hated that she had cancer. She hated what it did to her and how it made her look. She hated the effect it had on John and the boys. She hated the treatments, she hated the pain. I watched that. John hated to see what it did to her and hated the fact that there was nothing he could do to make her better. I watched that. I watched other things too. I watched them never give up. I watched them try to ease the fears the boys had about her illness. I watched Michell racked in pain joke with my wife not to hurt her when she had to get a needle. I watched them never give up. I watched John make dinner, help the boys with their home work, and help Michell get out of bed, while he held the phone talking to someone who called to see how Michell was doing. That, that is love. Again that love has no name. There is no word powerful enough to describe that love. John and Michelle, they shared that love. I know it because I saw it with my own eyes. When God reached out and took Michell’s hand to lead her home she took a part of John with her and that hurts. But she also left a part of her with him in that love that has no name. Michelle saw to that. The love I saw is the truest love of all. The part of her she left behind is the part that saw him through last night with such grace and poise. The part of her she left behind is the part that saw John comforting the very people that came to comfort him. The part that she left behind is the part that will ease her familie’s pain over time and make them stronger. Michelle would like that. And for us we can learn. And we should. We owe that to her. We watched and we helped and we prayed and we should find something from her struggle that will help us become stronger. She would have been there for use so we owe it to her. We need to know that today is here and the most should be made of it. We hope for tomorrow but it is not certain. Tonight husbands and wives will tell each other they love each other not because they do that every night but because they mean it more today and they will hold each other a little tighter and a little longer than they did yesterday. Michell would like that too.
Michelle loved to shop. She was to shopping what William Tell was to archery. She couldn’t get out to shop, she was too sick. I felt really bad for her cause she loved to shop so much. John heard at knock at the door one day and when he answered it there was the UPS man. John said he knew right away what was going on. He took the packages into the bedroom to Michell. “Michelle he said what are these?” “QVC, John. You know the home shopping network.” She didn’t just buy for herself either. The UPS truck stopped by almost daily. It stopped by for the last time yesterday. John took the two packages and opened them. There was a gold necklace with a little heart, and a vegetable chopper for John. I never saw her give up.
When this struggle began, I told Michelle I will watch out for her boys, all four of them, until the day I die. And while I may be a lot of things, I am first and foremost a man of my word. I will answer the question that seven year old asks me every time he asks. And one day, when he is a little older, I will tell him that if he can only be half as tough as his mother, he will be twice as tough as any man I have known, but never as tough as one woman. Godspeed to you Michell.
John Arnold

On behalf of myself and my three boys, Matt, Tyler, and Kyle, I would like to extend our greatest gratitude and appreciation for the sincere thoughts, words and gifts that have been extended to our family. It was quite obvious, not only to me and my boys, but to all who were able to attend her wake or funeral service, that Michell had touched many lives. The tremendous number of people that attended her services and the memorial sentiments left to her in this guest book has given us a sense of comfort in this difficult time. A sense of comfort that Michell would truly appreciate. On behalf of my family, I wish to extend to you, all of you, our most sincere and heartfelt gratitude.
The thoughts expressed by Jim Haggerty in this guest book serve to illustrate the person that Michell was in life. She was dignified and proud of her family. We know that we were the focus of her life and she realized she was, and always will be, the focus of our life’s. And while losing her is a difficult burden for us to bear, your sentiments make that burden a little lighter.
Michell was always concerned about the people in her life. Not only the boys and I, but her friends, her family, the people that she worked with, the people that left their sentiments in this guest book, and the people that she knew. She never boasted about the people that she was able to help. She never expected that anyone return a favor or a show of gratitude. For her, helping when she was able was good enough. Your sentiments would have made her cry. Seeing the profound effect that she had on those she knew and loved would have brought a tear to her eyes. Not a tear of sadness, or of loss, but a tear of pride, seeing that her life had such a positive effect on those she shared it with. And while you may be grateful that she shared her life with you, she would be equally grateful that you shared your life with her.
Her boys and I consider it a blessing that God let us share the time with her that we had. She adored our boys and they in turn adored her. And so did I. She fought until the end, trying to survive, not for herself, but for her boys and myself. The boys and I think of Michell everyday. We will think of her until the day we die. We know that everyday from now until then will be tough. But your kind words, your gifts, your sentiments, your contributions to the boy’s college fund, and your support will make those days easier. And for that we are eternally grateful to you. Michell will always be with us, in our hearts and in our minds. And while we know that one day we will all meet again, I want to thank all of you for helping the boys and I through the days in between.
Love Always,
John, Matt, Tyler, and Kyle

Dear Arnold Family,
I wish I would not have lost contact with Michell. We were Best Friends growing up. We had our 1st job toghter and were together all the time. If not
for the summer job she helped me get I,would not have met and found my Mr. wonderful. Ms.Sandy can tell you
John how much Michell meant to me, we simply grew up and grew apart. When I and my husband heard the news of her passing we were numb and all we wanted to do was to go back in time and get toghter. However we can
not do this so we were happy to see the LOVE that you two shared through
the pictures and the three beautiful
boys you have. I would love to say that if you or one of the children need anything please keep us in mind. Michell may you rest in Peace and may your memory live strong.
Good Bye Dear Old Friend. Jeanette

Michell was the happiest when talking about her boys. She shared her life, her plans, her hopes with everyone. And Oh, did she love the trip to Disney World with her gang.
If there were a magazine called "Work Pod Beautiful" like" House Beautiful, Michell's Pod would be there. It was a little home away from home for her-decorated first class and covered, almost entirely, with photographs of her husband, John, and their band of boys,Matt, Tyler and Kyle. Their happy faces in each picture were testaments to the loving home Michell and John made for them.
Michell was the genuine article all around and I will miss her deeply.
Knowing the great extent of her work for and love of her family, her many accomplishments and the classy way she did it all- I can only say - job well done Michell.Rest now till we all meet again.
And to Matt, Tyler and Kyle,- your Mom will always be with you- only a prayer away- you can count on it.
My prayers and thoughts are with you all in this most trying time.
