BARKSDALE, Morris A. On July 2, 2005, Officer MORRIS ABEL BARKSDALE; beloved husband of Barbara Barksdale; devoted father of Morgan Barksdale, Darius Barksdale, Mya Barksdale and Taylor Giblin; loving son of the late Martha Pierce, dear son of Elmer Barksdale. Also survived by his sister Lillian Barksdale. Friends may call at the family owned Bruzdzinski Funeral Home, P.A., 1407 Old Eastern Avenue, Essex at Rt. 702 (beltway exit 36), on Tuesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 P.M. Funeral Services on Wednesday at 1 P.M. Interment Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens.

Your influence in her life has shaped her & I am forever grateful for the adventures we shared that have turned into "tell me about Daddy and the crab legs" and other Daddy Stories that we both treasure.

While its been years since I last spoke to Binky (an old nickname), it doesnt make his passing any easier to deal with. I do regret that I didnt find out about his passing until after the memorial services. My sympathy goes out to his wife and the beautiful babies he made.

Morgan, I have been at such a loss for words. As you know, I lost my Dad a month ago. It took me a month to completely realize that I did lose him. He is with me always - in my heart, just as your Dad will always be with you. You were his Princess and always will be. Talk to him daily - just as you would to God, for they are there to comfort and watch over their Angel!

To the entire family - May the love that surrounds you be the source of comfort at this time.

Morris, I have always thought of you to be the best thing that ever happened to my sister. Ever since you came into her life she has been the happiest person alive. It kills me to see her have to go through your tragic passing but I know you will always and forever be in her heart. Barb, I love you so much and have always considered you my sister and not my step sister, even though I know I dont come around as often as I should just know that you and Morris and the kids always meant alot to me. Please if you need anything let me know and if its in my ability I will try and help in anyway. Taylor, Darius, Maya and Morgon, Aunt Lyssa loves you guys and I know your daddy is always gonna look after you so make sure you always do the right thing in life cause he will be watching and will kick your behind if you dont..LOL...I love all of you guys!!!! I grew up with Morris and was blessed to reconnect with him after several years of being out of touch. I will never forget when he called to wish me well on my upcoming wedding and the pride and joy in his voice when he talked about his wife and children. To the Barksdale Family- My thoughts and prayers and with you all. Barb, I never got a chance to meet you or the children but, Morris always said such wonderful things about all of you and what a difference you guys made in his life. I meet Morris when I first started working for the Dept. of Aging and boy did he make us all laugh. He would always visit when he was due in court. He was wonderful. I think that we used to compete with who could have the most children. But we both ended up with four wonderful ones. He will be greatly missed.

Barb,

My thoughts and prayers are with you and the children. I would give anything to be there for you and the family. I can't begin to describe the emotions I feel when I think of how suddenly Morris was taken from us. You and Morris were there for me when my brother was killed last year. Morris was directly responsible for getting me back on track and screwing my head on straight. Remember when he made me come to the FOP bullroast and wouldn't take no for an answer. I ended up having a blast. Morris was the kind of guy that made every experience worthwhile. I couldn't possibly repay him for the friendship he provided at that time. There is a shortage of people like Morris in this world. I will miss him very much. God bless you and the family. I look forward to seeing you when I return from Iraq.

Morgon my princess... I must tell you I have known your father since you became the the light in his eyes and the warmth in his heart, without ever even meeting him face to face. I have been a big supporter of your father for a very long time-because he showed himself to be respectful, caring and compassionate for YOU!
