Nancy McDonald Obituary

Nancy was born in Galesville, Maryland to Louis Seigert Jr and Sophie Leatherbury Seigert. She met and married Franklin McDonald in November of 1954. A year later they welcomed daughter Janet, 4 years later, a second daughter, Patty.

Nancy worked for Guilhouse Motor Parts for 10 years before gaining employment with the State of Maryland in Annapolis, Maryland.

Upon retirement, Nancy and her husband Frank would take many trips camping and fishing. She was an avid reader and loved sewing and cross stitch.

After retirement, she and Frank moved back to Galesville where they once again attended Galesville United Methodist Church where they first met.

Nancy suffered a stroke in 2018 and moved in with her daughter, Patricia and her husband Thomas where she lived a wonderful life until her death. When she moved in with Patty and Thomas, she attended Dublin United Methodist Church.

Nancy was predeceased by her husband of 70 years; Franklin McDonald, her sisters; Ruth Lewis, Grace Hays and Jean Trott. She is survived by her daughters, Janet L. McDonald-Sowell and her husband Ernest Jr, Patricia A. McDonald-Ward and husband Thomas; grandchildren, Brian Lee Hardy, Kevin Hardy, Timothy Ward and wife Adrianne, Michael Ward and wife Michelle; great grandchildren, Steven, Hunter and Abby Hardy, Taylor and Evans Ward, Madison, MacKenzie and Maddox Ward. Nancy has many friends and family to numerous to mention.

Family and friends will honor and celebrate Nancy's life at Dublin United Methodist Church on Saturday, October 18 at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Dublin United Methodist Church-1528 Whiteford Road-Street, Maryland 21154.
