Nicholas Lindblad Obituary

Nicholas Lindblad, beloved son of Paul Lindblad and Joanne Innis and brother of Benjamin Lindblad, died unexpectedly on November 8th, 2022 in Taiwan, where he was pursuing graduate studies. He was 31 years old. Nick was known for his kindness, gentleness, and sense of humor, as well as his remarkable intelligence, insatiable curiosity, and love of travel. He enjoyed music of all kinds and was a dedicated Ravens fan. Nick was intensely interested in the Far East, where he traveled widely, and had acquired a deep knowledge of China and impressive fluency in Mandarin Chinese. He was especially fond of hiking in nature and took great pleasure in walking through the woods of Patapsco Valley State Park.

Nick was born in Baltimore and raised in Catonsville. He was a graduate of Catonsville High School and Oberlin College in Ohio. While working on the staff of the Maryland Conservation Jobs Corps youth program as a college student, he helped oversee the installation of the All Sensory Trail in the Hilton area of the state park. He and his bandmates, including his brother Ben, played over the years at numerous locales in Catonsville.

Nick taught English in Changchun, China for five years, initially with the English First company, and subsequently at Jilin Agricultural University, where he became an assistant project manager. He was studying in the Johns Hopkins-Nanjing University graduate program this year. Nick is survived by his parents and brother, his beloved grandmother, Joanne Lindblad, his aunts and uncles, as well as many cousins and friends, all of whom he deeply loved. He will be intensely missed and forever loved by all of those who had the opportunity to be part of his world.
