Patrick Opara Obituary
He attended Eko Boys' High School, Lagos,Nigeria. He enrolled as a freshman at St. Joseph's College, Rensselaer, Indiana, and graduated in 1959. He
obtained a Master's and Doctorate degrees in 1964.
While teaching in Nigeria, Dr. Opara was
recruited to teach Sociology at then Morgan State College. While teaching he obtained his J.D. from the University of Maryland, School of Law in 1971.Until his death Dr. Opara practiced law in the City of Baltimore, with his son, Clay.
In addition to his aforementioned son Clay,
he is survived by his wife of 61 years, Marlene, and two other sons, Adebayo Opara of Baltimore, and Dr. Reginald Opara of Scottsdale, AZ; a brother, Dr.
Benjamin Opara of Baltimore, two sisters, Ms. Theresa Opara and Mrs. Rita Bassey; a grandson, Aaron Opara; a granddaughter, Anais Olusola Opara, and a host of other relatives.
