Paul Mueller Obituary

Paul G. Mueller, Jr., of Baltimore passed away peacefully at the age of 74 on July 28, 2024 with his family by his side. He is survived by his beloved wife Eileen (Murtha) of 48 years, his adoring children Lynn and Paul, his sister Beth Ann (Bill), many loving nieces and nephews, and many caring in-laws. He also leaves behind his lifelong Baltimore high school cronies Mike, John and Mike, as well as many friends from Mount Saint Mary's University, his alma mater. Paul's ability to draw people to him also made friends of his close fishing buddies in Illinois Jon and Scott.

Paul was born in Baltimore but moved to Batavia, Illinois for his job with Wyeth (now Pfizer) Pharmaceuticals in 1995. In 1997, he was named Sales Representative of the Year. When he retired in 2005, he was an Area Business Director for four states. After retiring, Paul taught English as a Second Language with the Literacy Volunteers of Fox Valley for many years. He also was a member of the Rotary Club of Geneva and was named Rotarian of the Year 2006-2007. Paul was an avid fishing, music, and travel enthusiast. He also enjoyed any food involving chocolate.

In May 2019, Paul was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease. He did as much as he could, for as long as he could, to remain active. However, Parkinson's is a progressive disease and eventually takes over the brain and body. He also developed dementia, which can follow Parkinson's close in hand.

Paul moved back to Baltimore in November 2023 to be home with family and friends. He had time to enjoy family gatherings and visits from his many friends. He fought the good fight.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Paul's name to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.

So hard to believe that it has been one year since the passing of Paul. Every time I hear of someone with Parkinson's disease, I think of Paul. I still have a lot to learn about this disease. Peace to you, Paul! You will always be remembered, my dear cousin.

Dad continues to be missed every day. He is "gone fishing" and I hope is catching plenty of bass up in heaven.

Sweetest man with a wry sense of humor. A great neighbor for so many years. My thoughts are with you all.

As children, my cousin Paul and I played together. He was 2 years my junior. I remember his black English bike which he loved. Also, I remember
the time he helped paint my mother's bedroom during a hot Baltimore summer. Rest in Our Lord's Loving Arms forever. Love, your cousin, Debbie Krumm Christopher

I only knew Mr Mueller for a short time after his diagnosis, but I will never forget the smile on his face when I we served him coffee and donuts

I used to meet up with Paul and a few of his buddies from Mt. St Mary's (and LHS; Fred, Jim, Steve) for pick-up basketball games at the high school...during the Summer in the early to mid 1970's. Paul was always the nicest, easiest going fella. Such a good man! I'm so sad to learn of his passing and know that he is resting in peace with the angels forever!

Paul walked among us unhurried with his quiet strength, a resolved purpose, and a smile that assured us that we were all in this together. His classmates will be forever grateful to Loyola for bringing us together with Paul from `64 to `67 and again for our 50th reunion. With fond remembrance,
