Richard will remain an important member of our family. Dating one our daughters in high school and at our home later as a big brother. Then living in basement at another daughters home years later. Shared much laughter with us and his Turkey chili when we came to Baltimore to visit. Our friend, and was considered an adopted Son. Our family will miss him.

To the Brizendine family, I want to extend my heartfelt condolences to you all. My heart is broken, learning of Richard's death. He was one of the truest friends a person could have. We were very close back in our college days, waiting tables together at the Mt. Washington Tavern. Every Sunday night, we'd knock off around 10 or 11 and head down to the Owl Bar, where we were usually the only patrons, and we'd talk until closing. At my prodding, the "Umpster" would go on about baseball, umpiring, The Who, and all of you. It was obvious he was very proud of each of his siblings and it was nice seeing someone draw such happiness from his family. I already miss him terribly but having had Richard as my friend makes me all the more certain that we will all be together again. Peace.

We are sorry for the loss of your brother Richard. We have many fond memories of all of the children playing in the alley on Stevenson Lane. We hope that your faith will get you through this difficult time.
