Marge, deepest sympathy to you and your family on the passing of Dick. I remember having dinner with the two of you when I was on storm duty in Salisbury and staying at your ocean front condo. Thoughts and prayers are with you.

I had the pleasure of working with Dick in State Farm's Woodlawn office. Dick led a great crew. He took an active interest in his employees and fostering their careers. I can remember visiting hospitalized employess with him. Not because it was good managment theory, but it was because that is who Dick was.
I also remember his boyish delight attending hockey games with his family at the CAPs center, spending time with his grandchildren at Disney, and during our office holdiay parties.
One day during a staff meeting, his secretary popped in to annouce that the crab lady had pulled up and had some fresh soft shells on the truck. Dick beamed and called an emergency recess to the management meeting. He sprinted to the truck to insure he got the best of the best. A true Marylander.
My heart goes out to his family. He spoke of each of you with pride and love.
He will be missed.
