Richard Pineau Obituary

Richard "Rick" Pineau, devoted husband, father, and prominent business owner, passed away peacefully at his home in Easton, Maryland, in the early morning hours of Saturday, September 27.

Rick's entrepreneurial career began in the early 1970s when he joined his brother, Robert, at Roofers Incorporated, the company founded by their late father, Edward Pineau. He became president of the company in 1980 and quickly grew it into one of the most distinguished roofing firms in the United States. Under his stewardship, the company's portfolio came to include some of the nation's most iconic landmarks, among them the White House, Naval Academy, Eisenhower Executive Office Building, Pentagon, Smithsonian, and the U.S. Embassy in Uruguay. Rick was also involved in oil and gas exploration in Oklahoma and real estate ventures throughout the Mid-Atlantic.

One of Rick's proudest accomplishments was creating a training program for incarcerated men in Baltimore City. Upon release and successful completion, participants were given the opportunity to join his team at Roofers Incorporated. Rick also found deep fulfillment in his longtime service on the Board of the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center.

Outside of work, Rick enjoyed traveling, golfing, hunting, and spending time with his family and beloved dog, Oz.

Rick is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Anne Frances Pineau (née Donadio); his children, Stacey Pineau, Courtney Pineau (Jeffrey Bos), Stephen Pineau, and Alivia Pineau (Geoffrey Hunt); his grandchildren, Sophia Laws, Matteo Bos, and Samuel Pineau. He was the cherished brother of Susan Pineau Dimling. He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Pineau, and his son, Jason Pineau.

Rick's memorial will be held on Tuesday, October 14th at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 1210 S. Washington St., Easton, Maryland. There will be a visitation at 11:30 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 12:30 p.m. A reception will take place after the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center, in recognition of their enduring commitment to supporting lifesaving care and innovation.

Yesterday

I worked for Rick at Roofers, Inc. in the early 90's. I have fond memories of my time there and send my condolences to his family. May his memory be eternal.

I met Rick when he was in his thirties. He was well dressed, handsome, successful and had a great sense of humor. Rick continued that his whole life. I always admired him. To his family, I am sorry for your loss. RIP Rick
