We will all miss them very much. Hopefully the emptyness in our hearts will soon heal. But their memories will never fade. They are some of the best memories us grandchildren will haveand they taught us so much in their time spent with us.

The one person you could count on to make fun of you when you were in trouble was always Poppie. He loved to tease his grandkids. Whether it was making faces at us or taking out his false teeth and trying to give them to us. I remember Poppie walking me up to the playground when I was little. I called it the "Red Playground" because everything was made out of red metal. He would walk me up there in the summer, while I ate one of his fresh picked tomatoes from the tomato garden he had in the back yard. I always got the first one.
Poppie may have been a grump, but we know that he loves us. We would tell him we loved him and he would simply say, "OK" or "I know."
Sometime last week, something told me to call Poppie. I did and when I told him I love him, I heard for the first time, "I love you too."
Poppie has left and now he is with Grandmom. Neither of them are in pain anymore. They are together, watching over us. And Poppie is probably aggravating her and she is probably saying, "Shut up you old fart!"
Now they are both gone. Although I wish that they were both still here, I know that they are in peace and watching over us.
I LOVE YOU POPPIE!
