A quick note of thanks to John Collins for sponsoring this page and to all of you for your kind words. It´s wonderful to see how many people dad mentored and how everyone remembers his wonderful smile. These words are a great comfort and are a reminder to us all what an impact we can have on others. Take care, Anne (Butch´s daughter)

I believe that everyone comes into your life for a reason - your job is to figure out why they are there. Butch's sense of humor and his ability to make everyone he met feel at ease, going up and down the dock with his well stocked "bar" in tow will always bring a smile to my face. Mike remembers the advice Butch gave him on fuels at one of the Albin get togethers and I have heard him pass it on to others. Butch is missed.

To the bollinger family,
I first met Butch 34 years ago, he was in the process of opening the Apex Oil Co. in Baltimore, I have a lot of very fine memories of my friendship with Butch, the Christmas parties and Mary bringing the children, his 50th. birthday party, football games, our traditional Atlantic City trips, I could go on and on.I can certainly say he was the most down to earth person I've ever met and most likly never will in the future and he was the most upbeat guy and always having a smile, the picture with him holding the fish is (Butch) all the way, he always made you feel good about yourself, I feel very lucky to have known Butch, I'm always catching myself reminiscencing, he will be greatly missed, he was a good friend and always will be and I can honestly say I loved this guy. My prayers and deepest sympathy goes out to Mary, Matt and the entire family.

I am so sad to hear the news of Butch's death. We met Butch and Mary thru Moppie, when you so graciously opened your home and dock to us. We had such great memories of tying up on your dock after we crossed the Chesapeake bay on the "Lucky Bum" and Moppie & Paul on the "Magic Rat II". We had been living on our boat for 4 months at that time and the meal you prepared for us was fabulous! You opened your home to us and treated us like family. When I think of you both, I can't help but smile. You will be missed Butch!

Mary
I graduated with Butch from Loyola. The service and celebration for Butch was deeply moving. I am sorry I did not have the opportunity to speak with you at L'Hirondelle, your family was beseiged with well wishers and I did not want to interfere with your closest family and friends.
Eventhough my contacts with Butch were infrequent, he was always cordial, warm and smiling. Please express my best wishes and prayers to your family for me.
Sincerely

I will never forget Uncle Butch. He will be in my memory as an affable, warm, and hilarious character. He was easy to talk to, fun to be around and a great family man. I have been thinking about my Aunt Mary and my cousins all through his illness. It's heart breaking to think of life without him, but what a legacy of good and strong people he left behind. I feel lucky to have known him.

Butch Bollinger was just an all-around good guy. We met my first week at Loyola High School where he was a year ahead of me. I enjoyed knowing him as a young man and through the years when we ran into each other, he always had an enthusiastic handshake and greeting as if I were his long lost best friend. I believe part of Butch's legacy will that he treated strangers as friends. Sometimes you just get lucky and I was lucky to know Butch.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the whole Bollinger family. As our next door neighbor, and friend on Cedarcroft for many years, Mr. Bollinger was always such a great guy. I was so sorry to hear of his passing. Please accept our condolences.

It seems like it was just yesterday that Butch spoke of plans he had and things he still had to do... But then today came so suddenly.
Butch was a success in business. It seems like it was just yesterday that he was struggling to start his own business. But he gathered great people with talent around him, and he tried to conduct himself with integrity.
Butch will be missed.

Butch, took me under your wing when I was just 18 years old. I learned many aspects of the oil business at a very young age. I admired and respected your truthfulness. You always wanted to do the right thing no matter the consequence. You inspired me to go back to school and get my BS, which without your constant hounding me I may never would have. You were a great visionary that surrounded yourself with people that believed in your vision. You got back your vision by the people that loved and respected you. Your loyalty and respect was infectious at Bollinger Energy. You will be missed!
