Tom was my mentor. Working under him at PHH gave me a true perspective of the business world. Basically, I idolized his intelligence to the point of taking up his writing style. I owe my success to being mentored by T. Wherrett Miller and observing his inate ability to see through bull---- and get to the facts of the matter. He was the most intelligent, honest, and real person I have ever known. I stll think of my days spent working with him every day. God Bless you Pat, and the girls -- as I was blessed over the many years we worked together.

I just saw the news of Tom's passing in the Loyola High School alumni magazine. Many of that class are gone, including Terry Coles and Frank Serio. But our classmate Charles O. Wood survives as teh host of CBS Sundy Morning program as Charles Osgood.=--Jack McGrain

Dear Pat,
Dear Ellen, Vahey, Mollie, Sara, and Meg,
Words can never describe the loss created by the absence of a loved one. I miss Tom already. I know that all of you miss him dearly.
Pat, I don’t know if you ever heard this story or not but it’s one of my favorite Tom stories and it comes from the beginning of our relationship. I remember my first trip to Chestertown. I had taken the occasion to propose to Ellen, on the steps of the Lincoln memorial in DC. I later found out that Tom had questioned Ellen as to my political affiliation. Having chosen the sight of a great republican president what else was he to think. I can only hope that he wasn’t too disappointed.
As the newest of the in-laws Tom always made me feel like a welcome member of the family. I enjoyed our trips to Rock Hall, now they will be different and I look forward to returning, just to remember.
We have a reminder of Tom with us everyday, and for the last few years. The Blue Bomb as Peter and Anna affectionately refer to it. The same 1981 blue, stick shift Mercedes that I rode in when Tom would take us to Rock Hall.
It will be different now, when we go to restaurants that we frequented with Tom here in Sarasota. They will take on a special meaning.
By all accounts Tom had a wonderful life with you Pat, Ellen, Mollie, Vahey, Meg and Sara. Trust in the memories of those days to bring you comfort.
We Love You All,
Jim, Anna and Peter
