William Hooper

On February 20th, 2024, William ("Bill") U. Hooper Jr passed away due to complications from covid. He was 96 years old. Raised in Mt. Washington, Bill graduated from St. Paul's School in 1947. There he captained three sports. In 1951, he graduated from the University of Virginia, where he was a four time lacrosse All American. He began his financial career of fifty-two years at Mead, Miller, and Co., and ended it as a vice president in the trust division of Mercantile Safe Deposit and Trust, later PNC Bank. He is survived by his wife, Susan, and a son, William U. Hooper lll (Sara). In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in his memory to either The St. Paul's Schools, P.O. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, May 31 from 5 to 7pm at USA Lacrosse, 2 Loveton Circle, Sparks Md 21152.
