Dorothy Carpenter-Clark Obituary

Dorothy Mae Carpenter-Clark Battle Creek Dorothy Mae Carpenter-Clark, 97, passed away peacefully, Saturday July 25, 2009. Beloved daughter of Minnie and Claude Hammond, Dorothy was born March 28, 1912 in Alpena MI. She spent all of her adult years in Battle Creek. Dorothy retired from Eaton Corporation. She loved to cook, read, crochet and bowl, which she did 2 and 3 days a week into her 90's. She loved her family and friends, and her winters in Arizona. She will be greatly missed by all. Dorothy moved to Chester, S.C. to live with her daughter Barbara (Gregg) Loss in 2004. Also surviving are grandchildren Sandra (Greg) Curtis, Betty (Victor) Davis, Diane (Scott) Janz, Joseph Buckner, Yvonne (Bill) Veldhoff and Daniel Tjalma. She has 13 great-grand children and 14 great-great-grandchildren. Proceeding her in death are her parents, husbands Dare Carpenter and Paul Clark, son Robert Carpenter, daughter Betty Tjalma, and grandson David Tjalma. Cremation has taken place and she will be buried at Memorial Park at a later date.

There will always be a special place in my heart for Grandma Clark. I just love her home made chop suey and she would make it for special occasions. My thoughts and prayers are with the entire family.
