Charlie, I think of you now and then, I cannot believe, you are no longer with us.I still laugh to myself at some of the things we did as kids, and as we were growing up. I remember, when we danced all night at my sister's wedding, when you tried to kiss me in the cherry tree, and I gave you a bloody nose, playing baseball at Prairieview, going to the football game with you, on our first date. I walked home at half-time, because I was afraid you would kiss me good night. Those were the good old days, and I could go on and on. I will always miss you and always think about you.I always think about your mom and dad, Betty and Brownie also.

Love,
Maria O.

Charlie, You were the spark of our high school class and your spark lives on in us.

For over 25 years you have been a friend and a father to me.

When I was 10 you coached my Fine Lake girl's softball team.
When I was 13 and 14 you chaperoned dances and homecoming activities.
When I was 15 you taught me to drive.
When I was 17 you didn't yell when I took out a fire hydrant with my car.
When I was 20 you held me as I cried for the loss of my other dad, Ron.
When I was 21 you bought me my first Long Island. (Thanks but yuck!)
When I was 23 you moved me from Ann Arbor to Holland in the dead of winter cursing all those terrible Ann Arbor drivers all the way through town.
When I was 24 you changed my life forever by sending me to England. Without the friendships I made in England I wouldn't be where (literally) I am today.

You always sent me home to Holland with a full tank of gas and a Pepsi for the road after checking my tire pressure.
You "schooled" me in good music and took me to my first concert (Beach Boys of course).
You never gave me grief when my hair was hot pink, or when I came back from Europe with my nose pierced.

Because of you I take the train home to Michigan.
Because of you I love the Golden Oldies.
Because of you I love Classic muscle cars.
Because of you I live in a sea of red and white Badgers but I will always be a navy and maize Wolverine in my heart.

I wish I had told you more often, but I am so proud to be your daughter and I will forever miss your bear hugs.
Thank you for being my father and my friend.
You were a good man Charlie Brown and there is a hole in my heart with your name on it.
My-My~
