John Brister Obituary

John W. Brister, 91, of Salesville, Arkansas, passed peacefully from this earthly life into his eternal home on Thursday, April 21, 2022, in Gassville.

He was born on March 1, 1931, in Rosedale, Mississippi, to John Wesley and Gladys Mae Brister. He married Billie Ann Fulgham of Drew, Mississippi, on March 17, 1951.

John grew up and was schooled in Rosedale, Mississippi. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He was a farmer of multiple row crops until his retirement in 2005, was a volunteer fireman and emergency medical technician for the Rosedale Volunteer Fire Department for many years, and served on the city council in Salesville, Arkansas.

He enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, grilling and making bluebird houses. He was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Rosedale, Mississippi and then East Side Baptist Church in Mountain Home, Arkansas, when he and Anne moved to Salesville in 2005.

John is survived by Anne, his wife of 71 years; one son, Johnny Brister and his wife Gloria and their son Adam and his daughter, Bobbi Nichols and her husband Billy.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 26, 2022, Roller Funeral Home in Mountain Home with Rev. Scott Speer officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to East Side Baptist Church, 718 E. Ninth St., Mountain Home, AR 72653, for the kid's summer camp.
