Karen Allen Obituary

Karen Allen of Midway, Arkansas, passed away Aug. 13, 2023, in Mountain Home, Arkansas, at the age of 73.

She was born Feb. 26, 1950, in Mountain Home, Arkansas, the daughter of Leonard and Betty Jo Duggins Kellem. She married Gene Allen on Aug. 10, 1973, in Colfax, Arkansas, and worked at the Baxter Lab.

Karen was a lifelong resident of Mountain Home. She never knew a stranger and was always calling to check in on others. She enjoyed gardening, camping and playing cards. Most of all, Karen loved to laugh with her friends and family. She wanted to see everyone happy. Karen was a proud mother, daughter and wife.

Karen is survived by her daughter, Rhonda Allen of Midway; beloved chihuahua, Peppi; sister-in-law Verlia Allen; niece Tammy Allen; several aunts and uncles; and a host of extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.

Visitation will be 1 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 20, 2023, 1 p.m. at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, Mountain Home, Arkansas. A funeral for Karen will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 20, 2023, with Mrs. Charlotte Holmes officiating. Burial will follow in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery, Gassville, Arkansas, with Danny Holmes, Roger Anderson, Tim Dover, David Dover, Buck Ahrens and Jason Hannaford as pallbearers
