She was born on May 14, 1943, in Portales, New Mexico, to Clyde Otho and Ola May (Tolburt) Spires. Lorna loved to be around children and worked for several years at Small World Pre-School and Cotter School District. She was a member of Mountain Home Church of Christ. Lorna was an avid reader and enjoyed watching old westerns on television. The thing she truly enjoyed doing was spending time with family, especially her children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Ola May Spires; one brother, Floyd Spires; and her first husband, John Henry Dutton.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 20, 2025, at Riverside Church of Christ in Gassville, Arkansas, with Jordan Manchester officiating. The family will receive friends from noon until service time. Burial will follow at East Oakland Cemetery.

I first met Lorna when her brother, Floyd was married to my sister, Cynthia. She had an infectious laugh and was fun to be with. I know her brother (nicknamed Red, because of his red hair) and many others are so glad to meet her in Heaven.
