Elda Faye Matheny passed to her final resting place on May 19, 2016. She passed with her youngest son, Terry, and his wife Susan, and her beloved dog, Poochie by her side. She was preceded in death by her husband, Headley (Tommy), and survived by her two sons, Michael and Terry, her sister, Jacklyn Elaine Smith and her Aunt Beatrice Hess, who celebrated her century mark this year. Born on October 16, 1929 in Houston, she met her future husband and got married in August 1948. In 1959 they moved to Friendswood, TX, where both of her sons attended virtually their entire school years and graduated from. In 1994 she and Tommy moved to Leander, TX to retire. She had several occupations in her life, including real estate broker and Avon representative, and she was an affectionate animal lover. She was an accomplished sculptor, having several of her busts and abstracts on display throughout her home. She is now in the company of the angels she so loved to collect.
A memorial service is in the planning stages to be held soon. For further information contact Terry at [email protected] or 512-219-0219
