Finley Holmes Horn, 82, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2017 in Friendswood, TX. Finley was born on March 24, 1934 in Abilene, TX. He was one of five children, born to parents Hugh Horn, Sr. and Ann Holmes Horn.
He married Mamie Ruth Skipper on September 29, 1951. Finley and Skip, as she was known, lived in various parts of Texas throughout their marriage. The couple had three children Larry, Paul, and Holly. After many years in Finley's construction business, the family moved to Friendswood, TX where he and his wife Skip owned and operated real estate and oilfield investments. They enjoyed their family, work, friends, and being involved in various area clubs and organizations.
Finley was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather as well as a loyal friend to many. He had a passion for sharing knowledge about the past generations of his family, and sharing these stories with his many friends and family. He was an experienced pilot with over 5,000 hours in the air and loved to discuss his experiences with other pilots. Finley was the type of man that would give the shirt off his back to anyone he saw that was in need. He spent his entire life helping others, not because he felt he should but because he enjoyed helping his family, friends and strangers.
Finley was preceded in death by his wife Skip; his parents; brothers, Hugh Horn Jr. and Charles Horn; and granddaughter Skipper Lee Horn.
He is survived by his sister, Margie Ann Hammack, his brother, Gerald Horn, his sister-in-law's, Polly Horn, Lavern Horn and Frankie Horn. His three children, Larry Horn and wife Melody, Paul Finley Horn and wife Jill, Holly Horn Mickler and husband Jeff. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Wayne Horn, Kassi Horn, Jenny Horn, Jessica Horn Geiman and husband Lance, Sean Finley Mickler and wife Katie, Brendan Barry and fiancée Kara Weber, Kacie Nyholt and husband Adam, and Allison Devera and husband Justin. He was the proud great grandfather to 11 great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at 2:00PM at Field Store Cemetery, 26100 Schneider Road, Waller, TX 77484.

So sorry to hear of Mr. Horn's passing. Our family got to know him as neighbors years back. He was always so friendly and shared stories of his family and early years. He was a very sweet man and very proud of his family. May he Rest In Peace.
