Maryland Hannagan Obituary

Our beloved quintessential devout Irish Catholic mother, Maryland Jeanette Waller Hannagan, went to rest in eternal peace with our Father on July 7, 2021. Maryland was born in Santa Monica, California on March 2, 1938. Our mother was the eldest of eight children. This provided our mother with a very strong work ethic.

In 1962, our mother married Paul Hannagan in Roswell, New Mexico. Ultimately, they bought their first and only family home in 1972 in Clear Lake City, Texas. In the fall of 1981, Paul passed away unexpectedly in 1981 at the age of 50 leaving our mother to continue raising three daughters (ages 18, 16, & 12). This forced our mother into the work force and attending college classes to study computers. Computer classes may not have been "her thing" BUT our mother was an avid reader of information, which made her a very wise woman! She started working part-time for Creative Blinds until she became the manager. Our mother worked for them for over 30+ years and she retired at the age of 77.

Maryland was greeted in Heaven by her: mother, Marie Olson; husband, Paul Hannagan, daughter, Karry Hannagan-Klippel; sister, Judy Rodriguez; sister, Mary Pat Kimberling; and brother, Tommy Waller. She is survived by her children: Kelly Hannagan-Valore and Stephanie "Steph" Kindle along with son-in-law, Brent. Grandchildren: Jacqueline Evans and husband, Phillip; Victoria Valore and life partner, Aaron Denby; Braden Hannagan; Jason Edwards; Garrett Kindle; Griffin Kindle; Hannah Klippel; and Madison Klippel. Great-grand children: Charlotte, Elijah, and Noah Denby. Sisters: Carolyn Faulk and Helen Saur. Brothers: James Olson and Ronnie Olson. Sister-in-law: Jane Aldridge. Godchild: Catherine West. And numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving family and friends.

A Funeral Mass will be held for Maryland Hannagan at 11:00am on Friday, November 12, 2021at St Bernadette's Catholic Church,15500 El Camino Real, Houston, Texas 77062. Family and friends at 1:30pmwill be gathering at Villa Capri,3717 E. NASA Rd 1, Seabrook, Texas 77586.

I am so sorry to hear the loss of your mother. Such a wonderful woman. Always filled with laughter and smiles and you can tell how dedicated she was to all of her children and her community. So blessed to just be a sliver of her life by knowing all her girls growing up. My heart is with you. I wish I could join you for the services. Please know that I´m there in spirit. God bless you all and keep you surrounded in love. We know that she has gone on to heaven and is so very happy. And I´m for sure she left nothing undone here .

Mom,
I miss you more than words can express. I´m lost at this holiday season without you. I know that in time, I will fine my way without you but it´s unbelievably hard on me right now. It is going to be filled with a lot of 1st. My 1st Thanksgiving without your. My 1st Christmas without you. They are all going to just by the 1st of many 1st to come. The only peace I find in all of this is that you are no longer in pain and that you have joined so many family members that you loved that had passed before you. I know in my that all of you are watching over me and that you all will continue to guide me to do the next right thing. I will always hold you in my until we are together, again!
