Thomas "Tommy" Joseph Blake was called home October 29, 2016. Tommy was born in Wichita Falls, Texas April 30, 1931. He grew up on a dairy farm with nine brothers and sisters. He attended Catholic school and remained a faithful and loyal servant his entire life. Tommy enlisted in the Marine Corp after high school and later he married the love of his life, Joan, November 22, 1956 and their family began. He attended Midwestern University and upon graduation, Tommy's career took his family to various communities within Texas, the southern states and Saudi Arabia, making life-long friends.
Tommy was preceded in death by his eldest daughter, Suzie Blake. Tommy is survived by his loving wife of nearly 60 years, Joan Blake; son Kevin Blake and wife, Renee of Granbury, Texas; daughters Karen Lowe and husband, Blake of Friendswood; Sondra Blake of Austin, Texas; Kathy Morton and husband, Kevin of Friendswood; Stephanie McFadden and husband, Thomas of Friendswood; Kristy Michael of Friendswood; sixteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; brothers Edward and Vincent Blake; and sisters Marie O'Brien, Gertrude Burkart and Rita Wiemann.
Tommy was an active member of Mary Queen Catholic Church where he humbly served his parish family since 1966. He was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus Chapter 1473 of Wichita Falls, Texas.
Tommy was a civil engineer, owning and operating General Petro Chem Industrial, serving the refineries of the Bay Area for 35 years before retiring at the young age of 81. This gave him even more time to spend in his much-loved yard and flowerbeds.
Tommy was truly a remarkable man rich in service, family, faith, and a great sense of humor. He touched people with his generosity and kindness.
