Gregory Furr Obituary

Gregory Allen Furr
FREDERICA - Gregory Allen Furr passed away on December 4, 2022, surrounded by love.
Greg was born on August 14, 1953, in Hanover, Pennsylvania. He attended York County Vo-Tech. He worked for 26 years at Eisenhart Wallcoverings in Hanover, PA before moving to Delaware.
He retired in February 2021 from Edgewell Personal Care in Dover, DE after 22 years as a production mechanic where he met many who became amazing friends. He was a Life member of the Home Association of McSherrystown and attended Calvary Church.
Greg loved the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, golf, NASCAR, sprint car and drag racing. He loved racing RC cars with his grandson. He could fix anything and was a hard worker his entire life. Greg was always willing to give the best of himself to those he loved. He enjoyed vacationing in Key West and sharing the amazing sunsets with Jackie. He was absolutely the best husband and "Pap." He will be missed so much by so many, but we take comfort in the knowledge that we will see him again.
Greg was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Angie Furr Muth; his parents, Robert Nelson and Marion Furr; brother Rodney Lauchman; and nephew, Matthew Furr.
Survived by his devoted wife of 24 years, Jackie; son, Sean Waltermyer; stepdaughter, Jenna Sach; stepson, John "JC" Sach; son-in-law, Robb Muth; grandson, Jaegen Sach; granddaughters, Alexis Muth, Cierra Waltermyer, and Olivia Muth; brothers, Robert Furr, Jr. and wife, Faye, Karl Furr and wife, Amy, Jeff Furr and wife Tami; and sister, Patsy Baker; mother-in-law, Anna Farley; several nephews and nieces; and our puppy, Ren.
Thank you to Penn Presbyterian HVICU, Select Specialty Hospital and AccentCare Hospice physicians and staff for the amazing care provided to Greg and Calvary Church for the love and compassion.
Services will be held 3 p.m., Saturday, December 17, 2022 at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (RT.10), Dover. Friends may call from 1-3 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society or Calvary Church 1141 E. Lebanon Rd., Dover, DE 19901.

In 1966 the size and strength of Gregg combined with the shooting of Bobby led the Penn Street Elementary school basketball to a championship (I think) well we did win a lot of games. One practice coach has us hang on his arms to see if Greg could catch the ball keeping his arms high and score. He scored regardless of us except when we tickled him. Bobbi was swished a half court shot when time was running out. The Furr brothers lived for "game time"! Greg was a gentle giant. Adios Amigos.

To the family of Greg Furr I send my heartfelt condolences to you.
I had the pleasure of working with Greg before I retired. He was always so very kind and helpful. He always carried an ample supply of Wether´s candy that he was happy to share
RIP Greg.
