ROCK FALLS – Samuel Jay Funderberg, 60, of Rock Falls, died on Monday, May 27, 2024, at his home. Sam was born on March 22, 1964, in Princeton, the son of Raymond Funderberg and Lila Simpson.
Survivors include his daughter, Desiree Funderberg (Shaun Taylor), of Ankeny, IA; seven sisters, Mary Durbin, Barbara VanDyke, both of Rock Falls, Lucy (Jim) Jennings, of Princeton, Sue Cook, of Rock Falls, Wanda Peterson, Sterling, Cindy Seaba, of Des Moines, IA, and Tammy (Wyatt) Bush, of Bogata, TX; one brother, Les (Paulette) Funderberg, of Rock Falls; three grandchildren, Anjelique, Jessenia, and Alexander Taylor; and two great grandchildren, Aurora and Scarlet Hall.
Sam was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Dean, Bradley, and David Funderberg; and one grandson, Kristian Taylor.
Visitation will be held at 10:00am on Friday, May 31, 2024, at First Open Bible Church in Rock Falls. Funeral service will follow at 11:00am, with Pastor Les Funderberg officiating. Burial will conclude at 2:00pm at Mason Cemetery in Princeton.
