Jeremy Willis Obituary

JEREMY "SHEA" WILLIS
Jeremy "Shea" Willis, 41, of Jacksonville Beach, Fl, went home to heaven on March 4, 2021. Born in Jacksonville, FL to Holly and Larry Willis. He received his undergraduate degree at University of North Florida, and then obtained his master's degree from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. He dedicated his life to serving the Lord in full time ministry in South Carolina.
On March 4, 2006, he married his "beautiful bride" Misti Hammons Willis. Together they built a family of two daughters, Ella and Caroline and a son, Jeremy. Shea was known for his love for Jesus and his magnetic personality. He loved people deeply but above all he adored his wife, children, family and friends. Shea was a Gator fan, loved hiking, camping, disc golf, and adventures with his family and students.
Shea was preceded in death by his dad, Larry. He is survived by his wife Misti, his three children Ella, Caroline, and Jeremy, his momma Holly, his grandmother Rosie, his sister Leah and many other beloved family members. Shea is a hero to his family and loved by all who knew him!
A memorial will be held in his hometown of Jacksonville Beach, FL this Saturday, March 13, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at Sunrise Community Church. Additionally, a Celebration of life service will be held on March 21, 2021 at 3 PM at Radius Church, Lexington, SC. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations made in Shea's honor to a GoFundMe account set up to help with the children's future. https://www.gofundme.com/f/thewillisfam. This is an extremely hard loss for all of us. I can’t stop thinking about Misti, the kids, holly and Leah, and the rest of sheas friends and family. I hurt for all of you.
Shea was special. He saw the love in everyone and I never heard or saw him judge others. That such a special gift. To see the good in everyone. And it came easy to Shea. He was like our modern day Mr. Rodgers.
“You’ve made this day a special day, by just your being you. There’s just no one person in the world like you, and I like you just the way you are.”

In loving memory of a extremely wonderful person. We will love you and miss you always. We will fondly remember Shea as a person with great charisma and a love for our Lord. He was instrumental in getting our daughter involved in the church youth program. Allendale, SC is a better place thanks to efforts spearheaded by Shea and others.
