Rudolph Wagner Obituary

DELAND - Rudolph Otto Wagner, 91, passed away in God's perfect timing Aug. 13, 2024. Services will be Thursday, Aug. 22, at Lohman Funeral Home, 935 E. New York Ave. in DeLand, with viewing starting at 10 a.m., followed by burial with military honors at DeLand Memorial Gardens, 600 E. Beresford Ave. All are welcome to attend a reception following the burial at the Garden Club of DeLand, 865 S. Alabama Ave.
Rudolph was born July 14, 1933, to Otto and Margaret Wagner.
Following high school, he joined the U.S. Air Force, and proudly served for 20 years. Once retired, he started his second career as a skilled homebuilder and built the home the family still lives in today.
In 1955, Rudolph married the love of his life, Naomi, and they shared 69 wonderful years.
The couple had five children, Donna (Rick), Diane (John), David (Cristina), Doug (Tara) and Danielle (James). Those children blessed them with 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, with one on the way.
Rudolph never really retired, as he was always up to helping others with his building skills. He enjoyed time with his family and friends, and was always up for a party. In his spare time, he enjoyed golf, building and flying his plane.
To know him was to love him. He was definitely one of the good ones.
Rudolph loved a good sweet treat and sharing them with all. His love for animals was evident, for when a stray showed up, it had a home.
He was the most amazing son, husband, father and "Pop Pop." His presence here will be missed, but what a joyous reunion we will all have one day.
Rudolph was preceded in death by his mom, dad, two brothers, Raymond and Richard, and a son-in-law, Rick. He is survived by his loving wife, Naomi; sister Linda; and all his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
