Lowell Eugene Bartek, a dedicated and inspiring man, passed away on October 10, 2024. Born in Beatrice, NE on September 6, 1932, to Andrew and Frieda Bartek, Lowell lived a life of service and devotion. His dedication was monumental as he spent 23 years in the United States Air Force, defending the nation he loved in Korea, Vietnam, and the Berlin Crisis. His unwavering commitment to duty was echoed in another 23 years of service with the United States Postal Service. As a retired military man, Lowell's work ethic and determination were unparalleled. He was also a devoted father who delighted in attending his sons' sporting activities, inspiring them with his unwavering support.
Lowell's steadfast love was not only evident in his career but also in his personal life. He was a loving husband to the late Wilmetta Wayman, whom he married on November 2, 1951. Lowell is survived by his sons, Matthew (Charlotte) Bartek of Wylie, TX, Michael (Terry) Bartek of Sparks, NV, Thomas (Lisa) Bartek of Falls City, NE, and Mark (Deeda) Bartek of Ponder, TX; 13 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends, whom he loved and cared for deeply. He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Frieda Bartek, his step-mother Lenora Bartek, his beloved wife Wilmetta, his sister Marsha Benner, and his daughter-in-law Kathy Bartek.
A private graveside service will be held at the Evergreen Home Cemetery with military honors rendered by the United States Air Force. A memorial has been established to the Beatrice Humane Society to honor Lowell's love of animals.
