Nick W. Huston, 80, of Beatrice, passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2024, at Bryan East Medical Center in Lincoln. He was born on June 21, 1944, in Beatrice to Francis and Mabel (Hill) Huston. He graduated from Beatrice High School in 1962 and went on to serve his country in the Nebraska Army National Guard. Nick married Vicki Brittain on June 27, 1965, at Westside Baptist Church in Beatrice, and together raised their two daughters Kristin and Kylie. Nick owned and operated Huston Market, Huston Cycle, Huston Motors and Hustons Furniture Mart in Beatrice. He enjoyed singing in the Good News Band, working on cars and motorcycles, attending car shows, working, roller skating, sharing the word of the Lord, and helping those in need.
Survivors include his loving wife of 59 years, Vicki of Beatrice; daughters, Kris (Rick) Timmerman, and Kylie (Nic) Essam both of Beatrice; grandchildren, Bodie (Ali) Moeller, Connor (Michal) Moeller, Taylor (Alex) Broening, Callan Essam, and Brock Huston; great-grandchildren, Bowen Moeller, Briggs Moeller, Carter Moeller, Ivy Moeller, Jax Moeller, and Beckham Broening. He was preceded in death by his parents Francis Huston and Mabel (Hill) Huston Maranville.
The family would like to recognize the young men Nick mentored over the years and how much they meant to him.
A celebration of life will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, July 15, 2024, at Christ Community Church of Beatrice with Pastor Dan Martin officiating. A family prayer service will be held at 10:15 A.M. on Monday at the church. Burial will be in the Evergreen Home Cemetery of Beatrice with military rites by the Nebraska Army National Guard and Bitting-Norman Post # 27 of the American Legion of Beatrice. The family encourages those attending the service to bring their hot rods and follow to the cemetery. Nick has been cremated and there will no viewing. A register book will be available on Sunday, July 14, 2024, from noon until 8:00 P.M. with the family greeting relatives and friends from 5:30 P.M. until 7:30 P.M. at the funeral home. www.foxfuneralhome.net Arrangements entrusted to Fox Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Beatrice.

We just heard about Nick's passing yesterday & wanted to say how sorry we are for your loss.

Sad that Mr. Nick has passed. I remember going to Huston's Market with my Grandma as a little girl and Mr. Nick always knew her name & mine as well! He was a wonderful man and our community has lost a wonderful man! My condolences to Mrs. Vicki and his family. RIP NICK! Roll them Rods in Heaven!
