Paul Lee Baehr, age 44, of DeWitt passed away on November 15, 2018. He was born on February 7, 1974 in Beatrice to Donald and Lynette (Busboom) Baehr. Paul was a 1992 graduate of Southern High School. He was a driver for the Farmer's Cooperative for many years and worked for several farmers including Scott Trauernicht and Brian Quackenbush where he helped operate equipment, harvest, and spray fields. On December 23, 2016, he was united in marriage to Roni Jo Fikar. Paul enjoyed shooting pool, bowling, and doing yardwork. He was a fan of Nebraska Football, NASCAR – especially Jimmy Johnson, and the Dallas Cowboys. He was always willing to help anyone around him, and his loyalty and quirky smile will be missed by so many, especially his beloved dogs.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Roni of DeWitt; father, Don Baehr and special friend Cindy Husa of Blue Springs; brothers, Jon Baehr and wife Terri and their children, Koda and Knox of North Bend, and Matt Baehr and fiancé Keli of Omaha; step-daughters, Taylor Patton and her daughter Addisyn, and Morgan Patton and her son Myles; sister-in-law, Rachel Reed and her daughter, Bailey; and great niece, AJ; parents-in-law, Lyle and Laura Teel of Crete; several aunts, uncles, and cousins and a host of extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lynette; and grandparents, Gerald Busboom, Henry and Lena Paben, and Arnold Baehr.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, November 19, 2018 at Christ Lutheran Church in R. Pickrell with Pastor Heather Brown officiating. A family prayer service will begin at 1:45 PM. Interment will take place at Christ Lutheran Cemetery. The body will lie in state at Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in Beatrice on Sunday, November 18 from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM with the family greeting relatives and friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and on Monday from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM and at the church one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the family for a charitable donation to be made in Paul's memory at a later date with the funeral home in charge.
