Billie Toups Matherson

1925 - 2026

Billie Marie Toups Williams Matherson, a woman defined by her tireless devotion to her family and her faith, passed away on Wednesday morning, March 11, 2026. She leaves behind a century-long legacy of service, strength, and love.

Born in Beaumont, TX on May 3, 1925, to Murphy and Mattie Toups. She was the Salutatorian of her graduating class at St. Anthony High School.

In 1946, she married Arthur Kenneth Williams. Together they built a life centered on hard work and family. Billie was a dedicated professional, retiring from Mobil Chemical after 35 years of service.

Following her retirement, Billie embraced many hobbies. She was an avid bridge player and found great joy in line dancing. Later in life, she married Jerry Matherson and they spent many happy years traveling and exploring the world on cruises.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Arthur Kenneth Williams; her son, Art Williams; and her second husband, Jerry Matherson. She is survived by her daughter Nancy Humberger (Hans); four grandchildren: Hans Humberger II (Emily), Keith Humberger (Jamie Rossman), Dana Adams (Drew), and Holly Kell (Jonathon); and two great-grandsons: Jax Kell and Hans "Cal" Humberger III. She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a large extended family.

Visitation will be held at Broussard's on Major Drive on March 20, 2026 from 5 P.M. - 7 P.M. with a Rosary being said at 5:30 P.M. Her funeral will be held the next day, March 21, 2026 at 10 A.M at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church. The family invites all who knew her to attend, join in prayer, and share their favorite memories.
