Charles W. Conklin

Charles W. Conklin, 81, of Vidor, passed away December 28, 2007, at Memorial Hermann Baptist Beaumont Hospital in Beaumont, Texas. Charles was a native of Caldwell, New Jersey where he lived most of his life. He worked with Pan American Airlines for eighteen years and later retired with the Essex County Independent School District after twenty two years of service. Charles was also a very active member of numerous square dancing clubs throughout New Jersey. He was also a United States Army veteran having served in World War II. He is survived by his daughters; Candylou Douget of Vidor, Texas, Dianne Conklin of Tennessee, and Debbie Hatton of New Jersey; one brother, Jack Conklin of Dallas, Texas; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Helen Conklin; son, Craig Conklin; daughter, Darlene Powers; and brother, Herbert Conklin, Jr. Graveside services will be 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 2, 2008 at Houston National Cemetery in Houston, Texas under the direction of Broussard's, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont, Texas.
