Darrell Baker Obituary

Darrell W. Baker, 68, of Pinewood, died Wednesday, September 12, 2012, at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth, Beaumont. He was born on October 12, 1943, in Beaumont, to Mary Elizabeth Heiman Baker and Gerald John Baker, and had been a lifelong resident of the area. Darrell retired as an owner and operator of Baker Signs. He was affectionately known as Ganpaw to his grandkids and children in his neighborhood. Survivors include his wife of forty-five years, Judy Baker; daughter, Melissa Baker Holmes and her husband, Shannon, of Pinewood; son, Trent Erwin Baker of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; grandchildren, Kaden Holmes, Kale Holmes, and Cameron Maccarelli Baker; sister, Sherry Sewell of Salado; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. A gathering of Mr. Baker's family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Sunday, September 16, 2012, at Broussard's, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 17, 2012, at Wesley United Methodist Church, 3810 North Major Drive, Beaumont, with interment to follow at Haven of Rest Cemetery, Beaumont. Memorial contributions may be made to Wesley United Methodist Church, Pam's Place, 3810 North Major Drive, Beaumont, Texas 77713. Complete and updated information may be found at broussards1889.com.
