EDITH BAILEY Obituary

Funeral services for Edith Winifred Bailey, 87, of Jasper will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at the First United Methodist Church in Jasper, with burial to follow at Newton City Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday, September 7, 2009 at Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home in Jasper. After a lengthy illness, Winifred died September 5, 2009 at her residence. A native of Newton County and longtime Jasper resident, she was a graduate of Burkeville High School. A member of the Jasper Women's Civic Club & Pine Burr Garden Club, her talents led to picture painting, crocheting & cooking. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great - grandmother, sister and friend. Survivors include son Walter L. Bailey, Jr., daughter Linda Youngblood Mattox & husband Jim, all of Jasper, two brothers, Robert E. Ted Miller, Jr. & Wife Carolyn of Little Cypress, TX and Charles E. Miller & wife Laurie of San Antonio, sister Robbie See of Louisa, KY, four grandchildren, Jim Youngblood & wife Melissa, Janie Youngblood Reister & husband Matthew, Justin Youngblood & wife Marianne, & Morgan Bailey, six great-grandchildren, J. B. Youngblood III, Cole Youngblood, Jake Reister, Jared Reister, Jacqueline Reister & Jackson Youngblood. She is also survived by a host of other relatives & friends, including special friend & caregiver Rosanne Loiacano. Winifred was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Walter L. Bo Bailey, her parents, Robert Teddy & Evalena Miller and sister Melba Adams & husband Clyde. Memorials may be made to Lakes Area Hospice, P.O. Box 2086, Jasper, TX 75951. Dearest Robbie & all of Winifred's Family: My beautiful thoughts go way back. Today, Charlie & I are living away from Newton and cannot be with you in person; but, we are with you in spirit and much love. May God's Loving Presence be with you all.
