FRANK BARRON Obituary

Frank H. Barron, 91,long time resident of Beaumont, Texas passed away in his sleepFriday, January 22, 2010 in Houston, Texas. He was active right up until his passing. Frank was born in Brooklyn, NYand lived in Mineola, NYuntil moving to Beaumont in 1966 when he was transferred with Mobil Oil Refinery.He was the third generation in his family to work at Mobil.Frank was active in Westminster Presbyterian Church where he served as an elder, deacon, and on many committees. He loved fishing,walking, traveling, and cooking and hisinfamous New York style cheesecake will be remembered by all of his friends.He spent many an hour at the kitchen table teaching his children math and helping them on homework and projects. He volunteered on many projects in Beaumont, including helping construct Junior League's Imagination Station and helping in his grandson's kindergarten computer class at Sally Curtis. He could often be found on the West End League's baseball fields watching baseball orat a recital for his grandkids. He was preceded in death by his wife of over 60 years, Edith, his parents, and his brother and sister. He is survived by all of his children: Dr. Richard Barron of New York, Dr. Frank Barron of Colorado, Rev. Michael Barron of Oklahoma, Beth Atkinson, Houston and Barbara Barron, Beaumont and 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. The family would particularly like to thank his adopted family at the Hampton Nursing Home in Houston where hewent after Hurricane Rita and loved them so much, he stayed. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Habitat for Humanity or to First Presbyterian Church, 121 West College St., Broken Arrow, OK 74012.
