James Byrd Obituary

James C. Byrd (Jimmy) On March 13, 2014, James C. Byrd (Jimmy), the love of my life and best friend, left this earth. It will be hard after 28 years of marriage to live without him. But knowing he will always be in my heart and we will be together again someday, gives me comfort. Jimmy was an honorable and honest man and will certainly be missed by those who knew and loved him. Jimmy was born on March 17, 1943 in Ft. Pierce, Florida to JC and Belle Byrd. Two sisters followed, Carol and Sharon. All precede him in death. Jimmy was proud to have served 8 years in the U.S. Army with a tour to Vietnam in 1967-1968. He was always most proud of his service to God and his country. Jimmy's father JC, spent his career working in the used car business and being raised in this business, Jimmy followed suit after leaving the military. Jimmy spent his entire career in the same industry and was the proud owner of Ingleside Auto Sales and Byrd Motor Co. for the last 28 years. Jimmy lived in the Corpus Christi, Texas area for 70 years, recently moving to Beaumont, Texas. He is survived by his loving wife Brenda T. Byrd, son Jason M. Byrd and wife Jennifer, son Forest Byrd and wife Kim, daughter Hope Byrd, and grandchildren Mallory, Brock, Bryce, Amanda, and Sara. A visitation service will be held on Wednesday, March 19, 2014, at Charlie Marshal funeral home in Aransas Pass, Texas from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society or Julie Rogers Gift of Life Program.

Just found out about my friend Jimmy. Brenda I´m so sorry. You and always treated me like family. I know I was just a kid in the car business but you and Jimmy were the best. Last time I saw you both my dad and I spend a great evening on your porch talking about the old days. I have great memories.

Brenda, Jason and family... Ron and I remember jimmy as a warm and loving person with integrity, always making us laugh. He will be missed, and always remembered, by us. Brenda, it's not easy suffering the loss of a loved one, it's only manageable with Gods
help. Jimmy used to go to Reba's on weekends when he was stationed at Ft. Dix , NJ.
