Jason Wellons Obituary

1970 - 2015 Jason Kyle Wellons, 45, of Winnie, died Wednesday, March 18, 2015. He was born to Sheila Richardson and Dusty Wellons on March 12, 1970. Jason's main trade was pipe fabrication, but his skills extended into many crafts. He was well thought of by his co-workers. He loved fishing, hunting the big buck, singing, and guitar playing. Jason loved being in the country and just the simple things in life. His passion was for cooking for his family, friends, and co-workers and to someday have his own little cooking business. Jason is remembered by his sons for his teaching them welding, carpentry, mechanics, and life and also for the love he had for them, his daughter, Megan and his wife, Lisa. Jason was a man of faith and known for his easy-going but straight-forward shooting personality and quick wit. He was always so easy to get a laugh out of and quick to flash a smile even in the toughest situations and had a huge heart of gold, full of love that any person would envy. Nothing brought our Jason more joy than seeing his loved ones happy. He was loved by many and will always be remembered. Survivors include his wife Lisa Phelps Wellons of Winnie; daughter, Megan Wellons of Beaumont; sons, Michael Billiot of Bridge City, Adam Billiot and Devin Billiot, both of Winnie; mother, Sheila Richardson of Beaumont; stepmother, Penny Wellons of Beaumont; brother, Clint Wellons and his wife, Colleen, of Oklahoma; grandmother, Johnnie Fay Richardson of Vidor; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles that loved him very much. He is preceded in death by his father, Dusty Wellons; grandparents, Jessie and Pat Wellons; and his beloved Paw, Alban Richardson. But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary and walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:31 A gathering of Jason's family and friends will begin at 5:00 p.m., Monday, March 23, 2015, at Broussard's, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A reception will follow his interment, Tuesday afternoon, beginning 1:00 p.m., at Sevenne Hall at Broussard Farm, 10714 East Clubb Road, Fannett.
