Joan Cummings Obituary

1953-2016 Joan Marie Cummings, 62 of Buna, TX passed away January 26, 2016 in Beaumont, Texas Joan was born in Taylor, TX on July 10, 1953. She is preceded in death by parents, Walter and Malinda Limmer and nephews Clayton Limmer and Bradley Limmer. She is survived by her husband Robert Dale Cummings of Buna, TX; children: Matthew Balusek and wife Kellie of Thrall, TX; Syrissa Dominguez and husband Anthony of Taylor, TX; and Travis Balusek of Buna, TX; 6 grandchildren: Colby, Morgan, Chasity, Kamryn, Emma and Hayden; 2 step-children: Nancy Oncken of Houston, TX and Catherine Franks of San Marcos, TX; 2 step-grandchildren: Haley and Sam of Houston, TX.; brothers; Bobby Limmer and wife Carol, Frankie Limmer and wife Judy and Wayne Limmer and wife Linda Joan was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Buna, TX. She enjoyed being a housewife and loved spending time with family (especially while participating in BBQ cook-offs). Joan graduated from Taylor High School and lived in Taylor, TX for 45 years before moving to Buna, TX with her husband, Dale. Her fun-loving and happy-go-lucky personality will be greatly missed by her family and friends but she will remain in our hearts forever. Pallbearers will be Matt Balusek, Travis Balusek, Anthony Dominguez, Colby Lopez, Sam Oncken, and Jason Talley. Honorary Pallbearers are Bobby Limmer, Wayne Limmer, and Frankie Limmer. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 P.M., Friday, January 29, 2016 at Providence Funeral Home. Celebration of Life Service will be 2:00 P.M., Saturday, January 30, 2016 at Providence Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Taylor City Cemetery.

We loved Joan! She was a very special lady who loved our lifelong friend and favorite doctor, Robert Dale Cummings, MD. Doc, we are here for you and would love to see you and keep you company during your time of bereavement. Prayers for all of Joan's loved ones. May God watch over you and give you comfort. I am very sorry for the loss of your wife, sister, and grandmother. Joan and I were childhood friends (and we're cousins too) and I have so many wonderful fun memories of her (and Frankie pranking us!) that I'll always cherish. She was always fun to be around.

Dear Dr. Cummings:

Please accept our sympathy for the loss of your loved one. We liked you as a doctor for all the years you practiced in Taylor. We remember when Rebecca was very young when Jean took her to see you the old Johns community Hospital. Jean turned around , and Rebecca was going out the front doors when she heard you were not there. She was about three years old.
