Paul Dillow Obituary

Paul Mark Dillow was born June 29, 1957, in Dumas, TX into the growing family of Jerry and Beverly Dillow. He passed away at the age of 64 in Humble, TX on August 18, 2021.

Paul grew up as one of six brothers and sisters in the Dillow family. When he was young they moved to Nederland, TX where he graduated high school in 1975. He remained in Mid-County where he started his family and began his career in the oil industry. Paul worked the platforms of the Gulf of Mexico, in North Dakota, and West Texas gaining many friendships along the way. That's how Paul was; he never met a stranger. He loved family time. He was his daughter's number one fan, and that bond transferred into the doting "Grand Daddy" he was to his grandchildren. Paul preferred the outdoors and enjoyed cooking delicious meals for anyone who was around him. Being a middle child, he found his voice in music, and he was never shy to sing his tenor part for all to hear. No matter what situation in life, Paul kept his humor and his infectious laughter about him. He was the life of every party. With a giving heart, Paul was always willing to help with a project, feed a hungry animal, and he even carried purchased toys in his truck to give to families that he met along his daily path. He truly let his heart be his guide. No matter his age, Paul never lost that child-like sense of adventure or his wonder of the unknown. He was always the first to jump in.

In the fall of 2020 Paul reconnected with a high school friend. They quickly cherished the love and companionship they found in each other and were married in December 2020. Paul had found a genuine place of happiness in his life. He left this world fulfilled.

Paul Dillow will be terribly missed by his loved wife, Joan Smith Forester Dillow; his admiring daughter, Alicia Johnson and husband, Michael; his treasured grandchildren, Parker and Georgia Johnson; his brave mother, Beverly Degarmo and husband, Ben; his life-long comrades and siblings, David Dillow and wife, Gwen; Russell Dillow and wife, Mary; Carol Dillow-Davis; Kent Dillow and wife, Kim; Janette Dillow and Joe DeGarmo; many nieces and nephews; and the Forester family.

We will celebrate his life Saturday, September 11, 2021, 1:00pm at Burkeville Baptist Church, Burkeville TX.

I grew up next door to the Dillow´s. Paul was such a kind person. As a child, I always loved listening to the Dillow´s sing. I was a fixture in their home for many years. He will be very missed.
