Ann Hansen Obituary

Ann Hansen

Ann, nee Bakay, Hansen, 100, of La Habra, CA, born March 23, 1917, in East St. Louis, IL, passed away December 27, 2017, in La Habra, CA.

Ann was born to immigrant parents in East St. Louis, Illinois on March 24th 1917. She graduated from East St. Louis High School and upon marrying Rome Hansen she moved to Belleville where she raised her son Russell. She was proficient at playing golf, which she loved doing with her husband, and frequently played 2 or 3 time times a week. She and her husband were very active socially, including with the Rotary Club in Belleville for many years, dinner parties with friends, and trips to the Ozarks. Upon Rome's retirement, he and Ann moved to Diamond Bar, California, where their only son Russ had moved after graduation from college. After Rome passed away suddenly in 1981, Ann rebuilt her life among the friends she had made in California, where she was loved by many, and remained there for the remainder of her 100 years.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Rose and Mike Bakay; her husband, Rome Hansen, who passed in 1981; and a sister, Mary Louvier.

She is survived by a brother, John.
