Barbara J. Utnage, nee Gaertner, 68, of Belleville, Ill., born Dec. 3, 1947, in St. Louis, Mo., died Wednesday, April 13, 2016, at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, Ill.
Barbara was a registered nurse retired from Willowcreek Nursing Home in Belleville, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Jennifer Utnage; parents, Michael P. and Jane L., nee Marheineke, Gaertner; and a brother, Joseph Gaertner.
Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Jessica Utnage of Belleville, Ill.; two grandchildren, Penelope and Isaac Utnage; two brothers and three sisters, Dr. Eugene (Barbara) Gaertner of Oregon, Ill., and twins, Phillip Gaertner and Catherine Schickedanz, both of Belleville, Ill.; Therese (Andy) Georgen of Town and Country, Mo., and Margaret (Mark) Eros of Belleville, Ill.; and nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or to the Arthritis Foundation. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.rennerfh.com.
Funeral: A celebration of Barbara's life will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 16, 2016, at the family home in Belleville, Ill.

The world has lost a beautiful lady. Barb was loved dearly by so many and she will be greatly missed. I'll always cherish my memories of many nights spent together at WillowCreek.
