Cletus Fussell

Cletus Wayne "Butch" Fussell, 72, of Caseyville, Ill., born Oct. 30, 1942, in East Prairie, Mo., died Sunday, June 28, 2015, surrounded by his loving wife of 37 years and his four children at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.

Cletus was raised in East St. Louis, Ill. He graduated from East St. Louis Senior High School with the class of June 1961. He served in the U.S. Army as a topographical surveyor in Liberia, receiving an honorable discharge, and later began work at Monsanto/Solutia (where he retired after 37 years). He was a member of the Classic Thunderbird Club of St. Louis and the Fat Boys of Illinois (F.B.I.). He was loved dearly by family and friends and will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, JC and Flora Janet, nee Presson, Fussell; and his sister, Myra Joice Schmitt.

Surviving are his beloved wife, Renee M. Fussell, nee Crawford; his children, Cleta (Dennis) Garcia of Brussels, Belgium, Christa (Anthony) Archie of Sacramento, Calif., Samantha T. Dear Fussell family, I'm writing to express my condolences to you all. I was a gear-head from East St. Louis too, and remember riding in Butch's Chevy V8-powered Studebaker just after he had installed a 'Reverb' sound system, cool stuff!
I remember Butch as a super guy, had a great sense of humor & laugh and was a true gentlemen.
PTL that Butch's life reflected his love for God!
May our Lord bless you all during this bittersweet time.
