Daniel Kennett Obituary
Daniel M. Kennett, 94, of Albers, Ill., born Jan. 21, 1920, in New Baden, Ill., died Monday, October 6, 2014, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Breese, Ill.
Daniel retired from the base supply at Scott Air Force Base; was a United States Air Force veteran; and formerly
worked at the Germantown IGA.
He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, and helping others. He was a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church and Men's Sodality and the Albers American Legion Post 1026.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Viola Kohrs, whom he married Nov. 12, 1947, at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Breese, Ill., and who preceded him Oct. 1, 2011; his parents, Franklin and Caroline, nee Monken, Kennett; a daughter-in-law, Christian Kennett; two brothers, Charles Kennett and Franklin Kennett; three sisters, Virginia Logsdon, Margaret LaCaze, and Eileen Kennett; a sister-in-law, Adele Kennett; and three brothers-in-law, Charles Lawler, John Logsdon and Woodrow LaCaze.
Surviving are his children, Marge (Rich) Litteken of Trenton, Ill., Colleen (Dan) Richter of Shiloh, Ill., Mary (Tony) Rakers of Trenton, Ill., Tony (Sherry) Kennett of Pocahontas, Ill., Jim Kennett of Highland, Ill., and Angie (Ken) Reuter of Hoffmann, Ill.; 15 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; a sister, Eleanor Mueller of Albers, Ill., and sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law, Virginia Kennett of New Baden, Ill., Mary Lawler of Carlyle, Ill., and Frances (Dick) Koehler of Carlyle, Ill.
Memorials can be made to the Albers American Legion Post 1026, St. Joseph's Hospital Lights for Scholarship Program, St. Bernard's Church, or to Adapt for Autism, and will be received at the funeral home.

Visitation: Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, October 9, 2014, and from 8 to 9:15 a.m. Friday, October 10, 2014, at the Moss Funeral Home, Trenton, Ill.
Funeral: A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, October 10, 2014, at St. Bernard's Catholic Church, Albers, Ill., with Fr. Jack Joyce and Deacon Glen Netemeyer officiating. Interment will be in St. Bernard's Cemetery, Albers, Ill.
