Vickie passed away on October 20, 2025 at her home in Washington, Utah after a short battle with cancer. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her family.
She was born July 23, 1949 to Sue Mahalek Simpson and Theron Simpson in Ogden, Utah. Vickie grew up in Hooper, Utah and graduated from Roy High School in 1967. She later attended cosmetology school at Weber State College where she developed a love and passion for doing hair and continued to do so for many years. She met her sweetheart and eternal companion Loren Kennett in the fall of 1973 and they were married a few months later on January 4, 1974 in the Salt Lake LDS temple.
After they were married they moved to Orem, Utah where they started their family. Vickie loved serving others and volunteered yearly for the festival of trees organization.
They later moved to St. George, Utah where she spent the last 35 years loving life and the weather!
She was a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and held many callings throughout her life. Her faith was one of the most important things in her life and she passed on that legacy to all who knew her. She deeply loved her family and found joy spending time with her grandkids.
She enjoyed sewing, crafting, gardening and working on genealogy. She also worked as a book keeper for the last 25 years. She loved her trips to Disneyland and decorated her home accordingly!
Vickie is survived by her husband Loren Ray Kennett, Children Michael (Jennifer) Kennett, Douglas (Lyndee) Kennett, Amber (Camm) Stephenson, Tyler (Macy) Kennett, Spencer (Amanda) Kennett, and Kasey Kennett.
